3A Region 6 Top Player Performances of the Week

Congratulations to this week's top players! We're covering the best performances from Friday's football action (using all statistics entered as of the time of writing). Enjoy!

Nate Jones' Big Game Leads Ohatchee over Glencoe

Starting off the list is Ohatchee's Nate Jones, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Jones rushed for 211 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.1 yards per carry. Those 211 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

Jones must have Glencoe's number; he was a force to be reckoned with the last time he faced them too. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Jones saw the Yellowjackets), he rushed for 201 yards and three touchdowns.

A Season-Best Performance from Colby Hester Leads Ohatchee over Glencoe

Ohatchee was led to victory by Colby Hester, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Hester picked up 162 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 32 yards. The effort marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in October of 2023. He is becoming a predictor of Ohatchee's success: when he posts at least two receiving touchdowns the team is 4-2 (and 1-2 when he doesn't).

Unfortunately for Glencoe, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Hester. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Hester saw the Yellowjackets), he rushed for 166 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries.
