Baseball Game Preview: Hughes Lions vs. Collinwood Trojans

Hughes is on a six-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Collinwood a seven-game streak of away losses also dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. The Hughes Lions will challenge the Collinwood Trojans. Neither Hughes nor Collinwood posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Hughes' offense. They came up short against Hampshire on Wednesday, falling 16-0.

Meanwhile, Collinwood came up short against Wilson on Tuesday and fell 4-1. The game marked the Trojans' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Hughes suffered a grim 12-3 defeat to Collinwood when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Can the Lions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
