Basketball Recap: Highland's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Highland entered their tilt with Skyline on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They enjoyed a cozy 73-55 victory over the Skyline Eagles. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 74-63 back in January.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Highland to victory, but perhaps none more so than Bodie Dodge, who made all 6 shots he took for 15 points and three steals. Dodge continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Soren Ries, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and ten rebounds.

Skyline's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Beau Bierman, who posted 15 points and three steals. Bierman is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last four games he's played. David Rasmussen was another key player, putting up 11 points and five boards.

Highland's win bumped their record up to 19-3. As for Skyline, their loss dropped their record down to 12-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Highland will face off against West at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. West is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.3 points per game this season. As for Skyline, they will take on Olympus at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Skyline's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matchups.
