Baseball Recap: IMG Academy Blue's Victory on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

IMG Academy Blue had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Central Pointe Christian Academy CPCA with a sharp 11-1 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 5-1 back in February.

Carson Flanagan tossed a big game, not allowing a single hit and allowed only one earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. He also allowed no hits, which is notable because IMG Academy Blue is undefeated when he allows at most one hit, but 6-8 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Joey Gadams, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Colin Kim was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

IMG Academy Blue always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .586. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

IMG Academy Blue now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Central Pointe Christian Academy, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-12-1.

Looking ahead, IMG Academy Blue will head out to square off against The Villages Charter at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Central Pointe Christian Academy, they will venture away from home to face off against MVP Baseball Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
