Basketball Recap: Marmaduke Comes Up Short

Marmaduke lost against East Poinsett County back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Marmaduke Greyhounds were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 46-45 to the East Poinsett County Warriors. The Greyhounds have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

East Poinsett County's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyrus Reel, who posted 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Gaines, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds.

Marmaduke's defeat dropped their record down to 10-12. As for East Poinsett County, they pushed their record up to 10-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marmaduke will host Corning at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for East Poinsett County, they will face off against Riverside at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
