Mountain Home lost a close one when they played on Tuesday but unfortunately for them the loss they were handed on Tuesday was a bit more commanding. They suffered a tough 17-2 defeat at the hands of the Minico Spartans. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Mountain Home in their matchups with Minico: they've now lost four in a row.
Ava Johnson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with a stolen base, two RBI, and a double.
On Minico's side, Sammy Jasso made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Jasso was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Minico got a massive performance out of Chuck Salinas, who scored three runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
