Baseball Recap: Tupelo Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Tupelo can now relate to. They fell just short of the Starkville Yellowjackets by a score of 6-5 on Thursday. The Golden Wave's loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Tupelo saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was John Enis, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another was Landon Swinney, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Tupelo's record is now 20-9. As for Starkville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a massive bump to their 19-9-1 record this season.

While Tupelo had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
