Baseball Recap: Hatboro-Horsham Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Hatboro-Horsham can now relate to. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Upper Dublin Cardinals on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in April.

Conner Cataldi was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits.

On the hitting side, Hatboro-Horsham saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jamie O'Neill, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Hatboro-Horsham's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Upper Dublin, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5-1 record this season.

Hatboro-Horsham does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Upper Dublin, they will challenge Elizabethtown on Monday. The Bears will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Cardinals surely won't give up without a fight.
