Softball Recap: Biglerville's Undefeated Season over After Four Games

If Biglerville was riding high fresh off their 17-0 takedown of York County Tech last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Biglerville fell just short of the Annville-Cleona Dutchmen by a score of 5-4 on Friday. The loss was the Canners' first of the season.

Paige Slaybaugh was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season.

Even though they lost, Biglerville lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Biglerville fell to 3-1. As for Annville-Cleona, their win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Biglerville will host Bermudian Springs at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Bermudian Springs has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.38 runs per game on average), something Biglerville will no doubt try to take advantage of.
