Baseball Recap: Fraser Wins Going Away Against Port Huron Northern

Fraser barely beat Port Huron Northern the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Ramblers put the hurt on the Huskies with a sharp 7-1 victory on Wednesday. The Ramblers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Huskies, too.

Jack Manzella spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on seven hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Connor Sikorski was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. He has become a key player for Fraser: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 7-11 otherwise.

Fraser has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-11 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Port Huron Northern, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-13.

Fraser will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Huskies: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
