Baseball Game Preview: St. Johns Country Day Spartans vs. Eagle's View Warriors

The St. Johns Country Day Spartans will challenge the Eagle's View Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. St. Johns Country Day's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Eagle's View's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

St. Johns Country Day's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Tuesday's struggle, when Parkview hitters got past them. The Spartans fell 11-6 to the Panthers on Tuesday.

Nick Bowden and TJ Sunderhaus stepped up to the plate in a big way. Bowden got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Sunderhaus scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Brayden Harris, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Eagle's View's offense. They lost 10-0 to Keystone Heights on Tuesday. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

St. Johns Country Day's defeat dropped their record down to 16-8. As for Eagle's View, their loss dropped their record down to 11-13.

Everything went St. Johns Country Day's way against Eagle's View in their previous matchup back in April of 2021, as St. Johns Country Day made off with an 18-0 win. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
