Basketball Recap: Orangeburg-Wilkinson Takes a Loss

Orangeburg-Wilkinson has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 41-38 heartbreaker at the hands of the Conway Tigers. If the Bruins were looking for revenge after losing 61-51 to them when the teams met on Saturday, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the loss, Orangeburg-Wilkinson still got an impressive performance from Jordan McGahee, who went 6 of 13 en route to 13 points and eight boards. Keith Smith was another key player, putting up six points.

Even though they lost, Orangeburg-Wilkinson smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. This was only their first loss (out of five games) when they hit their own glass that hard.

Conway's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tramaine Hunter led the charge by posting eight points. The team also got some help courtesy of Javion Crawford, who posted eight points.

Orangeburg-Wilkinson's defeat dropped their record down to 14-5. As for Conway, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season.

Orangeburg-Wilkinson will square off against Evans at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Orangeburg-Wilkinson is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.6 points per game this season. As for Conway, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Conway Tigers face off against the Carolina Forest Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Conway will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
