It was a proper cat-fight when Miami Trace took on McClain on Tuesday. The Panthers walked away with a 10-7 victory over the Tigers. Considering the Panthers' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Gracie Cordell made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up six earned (and one unearned) runs off 11 hits (and only one walk). Cordell was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI.

In other batting news, Ellie Hoppes was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two triples, three RBI, and two runs. Keionnie Ackley was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Miami Trace always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as McClain only posted an OBP of .371.

Miami Trace's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 2-4. As for McClain, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

Miami Trace will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Tigers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
