Volleyball Recap: Riverton Triumphs

Kansas City Christian School typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday Riverton proved too difficult a challenge. They skirted past the Panthers 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rams.

Riverton had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 24-26, 25-15, 25-21.

Avery Barnett paced Riverton's offense, picking up 17 kills. Barnett got some help from Ava Price and her 40 assists. Barnett was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Riverton's win bumped their record up to 26-4-1. As for Kansas City Christian School, their defeat ended a five-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-9-3.

Riverton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Bishop Ward on the 11th. As for Kansas City Christian School, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Jefferson County North on the 11th.
