Softball Recap: Voorheesville Blackbirds vs. Troy Flying Horses
The Voorheesville Blackbirds sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over the Troy Flying Horses on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Blackbirds.
Abby Brown made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Troy will face off against rival Cohoes at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Flying Horses 3.9, the Tigers 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
