Softball Game Preview: Blaine Borderites vs. Meridian Trojans

The Blaine Borderites will head out to challenge the Meridian Trojans at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Blaine and seven for Meridian.

Sedro-Woolley hit Blaine with a 11-run fourth inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Borderites came up short against the Cubs, falling 18-3. Surprisingly, this marked the Borderites' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Blaine saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mesa Puls, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That home run was Puls' first of the season.

Meanwhile, Meridian lost 17-2 to Mount Vernon on Monday.

Blaine's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Meridian, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10.

Everything went Blaine's way against Meridian in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Blaine made off with a 13-0 victory. Do the Borderites have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Trojans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
