Baseball Recap: Newberry Comes Up Short

If Newberry was riding high fresh off their 15-5 takedown of Whitmire on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Newberry fell 5-2 to the Fox Creek Predators on Friday. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Predators recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Newberry's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-3. As for Fox Creek, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-3.

Looking ahead, Newberry will be playing in front of their home fans against Clinton at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Fox Creek, they will head out on the road to face off against Augusta Christian at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Fox Creek is facing Augusta Christian at the right time seeing as Augusta Christian is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
