Football Recap: Deer Lakes Takes a Loss

Deer Lakes was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 14-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the East Allegheny Wild Cats. The Lancers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wild Cats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Dante Mangieri threw for 62 yards on five of 15 attempts. Luca Mangieri was his top target, picking up 39 receiving yards. On the ground, Roman Smith rushed for 81 yards.

Deer Lakes' defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for East Allegheny, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Deer Lakes will face off against rival Highlands at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, East Allegheny is set to take on their familiar foe Burrell at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
