Softball Game Preview: West Forsyth Titans vs. Davie War Eagles

The West Forsyth Titans will head out to take on the Davie War Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. West Forsyth's pitching crew has only allowed 1.2 runs per game this season, so Davie's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

West Forsyth is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of North Carolina's top teams: Reagan, who was ranked tenth at the time (West Forsyth was ranked fifth). The Titans narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Raiders 3-2. The Titans haven't had any issues with the Raiders recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, after only one run in their last contest, Davie made sure to put some runs up on the board against Mount Tabor on Tuesday. The War Eagles put the hurt on the Spartans with a sharp 18-2 victory. Considering the War Eagles have won six games by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

West Forsyth pushed their record up to 19-1 with the win, which was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 9.1 runs. As for Davie, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 12-5 record.

West Forsyth took their win against Davie in their previous meeting back in March by a conclusive 12-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Titans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
