Baseball Recap: Russellville Takes a Loss

Russellville fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Lawrence County on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Red Devils by a score of 5-3. The Golden Tigers' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Russellville saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caleb Hawkins, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI.

Russellville's loss dropped their record down to 18-7. As for Lawrence County, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season.

While Russellville had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
