Volleyball Recap: Century's Run of Four Straight Wins Now Over

It was a good run, but Century unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-match winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the St. Louis Park Orioles by a score of 2-1. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Orioles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2018.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Century sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-12, 25-27, 15-10.

Mary Amusan paced Century's offense, picking up eight kills. Amusan got some help from Laney Stellmaker and her 15 assists. Stellmaker was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Century's defeat dropped their record down to 13-11. As for St. Louis Park, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-8-1 record this season.

Century has already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Mounds View on the 4th. St. Louis Park has also already played their next contest (against Minneapolis Southwest), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
