Mancos is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They blew past West Grand 56-26. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 30-8.

Mancos' success was spearheaded by the efforts of Jonah H Ritter, who rushed for 232 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 10.5 yards per carry, and Michael Resner, who rushed for 164 yards and one TD on only 15 carries. With that strong performance, H Ritter is now averaging an impressive 108.2 rushing yards per game.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Mancos was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 428 rushing yards. They are a perfect 6-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

Meanwhile, Akron strolled into their game on Saturday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They claimed a resounding 42-14 victory over Crowley County. The Rams might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by 26 points or more this season.

Akron's win came from a few key players Mancos will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jakzon Livesay, who rushed for 142 yards and three scores on only 15 carries. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in November of 2024. Kolten Randel was another major influence, as he rushed for 38 yards and ran in a TD.

Mancos' record is now 7-3. As for Akron, their record now sits at 10-0.

Saturday's contest might be decided on the ground. Mancos has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 228.1 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Akron struggles in that department as they've been averaging 189.8 rushing yards. There's a good chance Saturday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
