Softball Recap: Fort Bend Austin Has No Trouble Against Fort Bend Dulles

Fort Bend Austin's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. Everything went their way against the Fort Bend Dulles Vikings as they made off with a 22-4 win. The game marked the Bulldogs' most dominant victory of the season.

Piper Murchison was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits. Murchison was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with four runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those four runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Fort Bend Austin got a massive performance out of Hiranya Singh Talan, who went 4-for-5 with two triples, five RBI, and three runs. That's the most runs Singh Talan has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Amira Marfani, who went 4-for-5 with five RBI, three runs, and three doubles.

Fort Bend Austin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .707. They are 4-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Fort Bend Austin's win bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Fort Bend Dulles, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Fort Bend Austin wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 15-4 loss against Fort Bend Elkins on the 1st. Fort Bend Dulles has also already played their next contest (against Fort Bend Clements), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
