Rock Island and Geneseo are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2018, but likely not for long. The Rocks will look to defend their home field on Monday against the Maple Leafs at 4:30 p.m. Rock Island is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

Rock Island fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Quincy on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Blue Devils by a score of 5-4.

Meanwhile, Geneseo made easy work of Bloomington on Friday and carried off an 11-1 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Maple Leafs.

Geneseo's victory bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Rock Island, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-8.

Everything went Rock Island's way against Geneseo when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Rock Island made off with an 8-1 win. Will the Rocks repeat their success, or do the Maple Leafs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
