Basketball Recap: Izaiah Redd Key Part of Team Effort in Red Dragons Win

There's no place like home for McKinley, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They snuck past the Liberty Leopards with a 57-53 win on Tuesday. This was payback for the Red Dragons, who suffered a 43-41 loss the last time these two teams met.

McKinley's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Izaiah Redd, who posted 18 points. Those 18 points gave Redd a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Trey Davis, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 14 rebounds.

When it comes to explaining why Liberty lost, don't look at Ramsey Hadi-Cox. Despite the final result, he scored 24 points. Another player making a difference was Nate Vire, who earned seven points.

The win got McKinley back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, McKinley will challenge Mineral Ridge at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Liberty, they will take on David Anderson at 12:00 p.m. on Friday.
