Baseball Recap: Magdalena Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Magdalena waltzed into their game on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Zuni Thunderbirds 11-1. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Steers also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2025.

The team relied heavily on Mathew Lopez, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2025. Josh Vigil was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Magdalena's record now sits at 7-2. As for Zuni, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-12.

Looking ahead, Magdalena will head out on the road to square off against Grady at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup will give the Steers their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Zuni, they will host Thoreau at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
