Preview: Stigler Panthers vs. Hartshorne Miners
Stigler is 8-2 against Hartshorne since December of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Stigler Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Hartshorne Miners at 7:30 p.m. Stigler is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
Last Tuesday, Stigler was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 54-48 to Wilburton.
Meanwhile, Hartshorne came tearing into Tuesday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They secured a 59-53 W over Talihina.
Stigler's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-8. As for Hartshorne, their victory bumped their record up to 8-5.
Stigler was able to grind out a solid victory over Hartshorne in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, winning 40-31. The rematch might be a little tougher for Stigler since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
