A Season-Best Effort from Deandre Montgomery Leads North Side over South Hills
On Thursday, North Side got the W thanks in part to Deandre Montgomery playing the best football he has all season. Montgomery rushed for 133 yards and four touchdowns. The effort marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in September of 2023.
For the year, Montgomery has averaged 7.2 receiving yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he was only averaging 3.2 receiving yards per game.

Kaeden Grant Turns in Season-Best Performance
On Friday, Arlington Heights got the W thanks in part to Kaeden Grant playing the best football he has all season. Grant threw for 161 yards and three touchdowns while completing 73.7% of his passes, and also punched in two touchdowns on the ground.
The victory for Arlington Heights keeps them at an undefeated 6-0. Grant and Arlington Heights will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Saginaw.

Carson James Goes Supernova in Arlington Heights Win
Carson James was instrumental in extending Arlington Heights's winning streak to six on Friday. Polytechnic had no answer to James as he rushed for 102 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries. James' longest rush was for an impressive 51 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
Unfortunately for Polytechnic, this isn't the first big game they've seen from James. Back in September of 2023 (the last time James saw the Parrots), he rushed for 96 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries.

Thomas Made His Presence Known in Paschal's 37-8 Victory
Rounding off our Top Five is Jashaun Thomas of Paschal. Thomas threw for 228 yards and a touchdown while picking up 10.9 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 48 yards and a touchdown.
The win (which was Paschal's fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-1. Thomas and Paschal will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Saginaw at 7:30 p.m. on October 18th.
