Basketball Recap: Amari Moore's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Rouse over Liberty Hill

Rouse fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Liberty Hill on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 66-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Liberty Hill Panthers. The Raiders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Several Raiders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Amari Moore, who posted 22 points. Moore's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. D?Andre Gardner was another key player, putting up 15 points and seven rebounds.

Even though they lost, Rouse smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in February of 2024.

With the defeat, Rouse broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 18-9. As for Liberty Hill, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record this season.

Rouse and Liberty Hill should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Rouse will challenge Hays at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday up 432 places (196 vs. 628). Meanwhile, Liberty Hill (ranked 97th) will meet Lockhart (ranked 609th) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
