Volleyball Recap: Villanova Prep Comes Up Short

Villanova Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Bishop Diego Cardinals. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cardinals apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Villanova Prep took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 25-17, 20-25, 23-25, 25-17, 15-6.

Villanova Prep's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Bishop Diego, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 11-7.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Villanova Prep will face off against rival Cate at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Bishop Diego is set to challenge their familiar foe St. Bonaventure at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
