Pueblo South had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Saturday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Sand Creek Scorpions. While the Colts didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Aiden Abeyta spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Caeden Herrera, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double.

Pueblo South was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .364 or higher in three consecutive games.

Pueblo South pushed their record up to 7-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Sand Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Looking ahead, Pueblo South will face off against Skyline at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sand Creek, they will square off against Widefield at 11:00 a.m. on Monday.
