Basketball Recap: Downey Finds Playoff Glory Versus JW North

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Downey walked away with it. They skirted past the JW North Huskies 44-42. This was payback for the Vikings, who suffered a 54-39 loss the last time these two teams met.

Earl Santos was nothing short of spectacular: he went 9-for-15 to rack up 22 points. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Frank Ibarra, who posted nine points.

Downey's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-10. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.3 points over those games. As for JW North, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-14.

Downey has already played their next game (against Quartz Hill), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. JW North does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
