Baseball Recap: Northridge Grizzlies vs. Roosevelt Roughriders

Northridge had lost nine straight at home, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 1-20 to make it ten. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 15-0 to the Roosevelt Roughriders, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Roughriders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 on Saturday.

As for Roosevelt, their victory bumped their record up to 14-5. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their two-run performance the matchup before.

For Roosevelt's part, not much got past Israel Castillo, who gave up just three hits and racked up 13 Ks to keep Northridge off the board.

On the hitting side, Luke Unruh was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Sauer, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases and three runs.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northridge will head out to face off against Greeley Central at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Roosevelt, they will venture away from home to challenge Greeley West at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
