Basketball Recap: Cumberland County Comes Up Short

Cumberland County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Walker Valley Mustangs 79-51. While losing is never fun, the Jets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 369th, while the Mustangs are ranked 12th).

Cumberland County's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Walker Valley, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-1.

Cumberland County won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Gordonsville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Gordonsville will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Cumberland County surely won't give up without a fight. Walker Valley and Seckinger will round out the year against one another at at 7:30 p.m. on December 27th.
