Basketball Recap: Hereford Comes Up Short

Hereford suffered their closest loss since December 15, 2023 on Friday. They fell just short of the Southern Rams by a score of 56-53. The Bulls lost against the Rams in their previous head to head back in December of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 62-37 score last time.

Jared Haskiell was his usual excellent self, going 15 for 27 on his way to 44 points and four steals for Southern. That makes it three consecutive games in which Haskiell has scored at least a third of Southern's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Upole, who posted five points and seven assists.

This is the second loss in a row for Hereford and nudges their season record down to 2-4. As for Southern, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Hereford will take on Loch Raven on Friday. Hereford is facing Loch Raven at the right time seeing as Loch Raven is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Southern, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 57-55 win against Armstrong on the 28th.
