Softball Game Preview: Loyalton Grizzlies vs. Truckee Wolverines

The Loyalton Grizzlies will square off against the Truckee Wolverines at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Loyalton is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Portola just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 16-15. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (13), the Grizzlies still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, Truckee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 20-12 to South Tahoe.

Jessie Borzello was cooking despite her team's loss, going 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophie Inis, who went 1-for-5 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Truckee's loss dropped their record down to 7-18. As for Loyalton, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-12.
