            Baseball Recap: Hilton Head Island Seahawks vs. May River Sharks        
        
		
        
        
            Hilton Head Island had lost six straight at home, but  on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 8-17 to make it seven. They lost  10-4 to the May River Sharks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Sharks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  11-1  on Monday.
 Hilton Head Island saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Slater Alsobrook, who  went 1-for-4 with one  stolen base.
As for May River, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record  this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by six  runs or more this season.
On May River's side,  Logan Hargis tossed a big game,   not allowing a single  earned run over 5.1 innings pitched. Hargis has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in seven consecutive appearances.
 At the plate,  Fergus Varley was  incredible,  going 1-for-3 with two  runs, one  triple,  and two  RBI. That  triple marked the first that  he has  hit this season.  Dylan Mischik was another key player,  going 1-for-3 with two  RBI and one  run.
While Hilton Head Island had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday.
