Baseball Recap: Clarion-Limestone Drops Highest Score of Season Against Johnsonburg

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Clarion-Limestone). They put the hurt on the Johnsonburg Rams with a sharp 10-0 victory on Thursday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Lions considering their two-run performance the game before.

Alex Love and Paul Craig did most of the damage at the plate: Love got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base, while Craig went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those two runs gave Love a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Siwiecki, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Clarion-Limestone's record is now 3-8. As for Johnsonburg, their loss was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-9.

Clarion-Limestone will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on North Clarion at 4:15 p.m. on May 5. As for Johnsonburg, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Elk County Catholic at 4:15 p.m. The Crusaders will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Rams surely won't give up without a fight.
