Softball Recap: Avon Snaps Six-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Avon came out on top against Fishers on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run fourth inning. The Orioles were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Tigers. The Orioles have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Tigers, too.

Addie Forst spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Lylah DeArmond was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Regan Cooper, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Avon hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fishers struck out seven times.

Avon's victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-13. As for Fishers, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-7 record this season.

Avon will host McCutcheon at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Orioles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mavericks have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season. As for Fishers, they will challenge Carmel at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
