Softball Recap: Summit Triumphs

Riverdale typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Summit proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Warriors, sneaking past 7-5. This was payback for the Spartans, who suffered a 1-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Summit got a massive performance out of Audrey Cathey, who fired off two home runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those two home runs gave Cathey a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bella Brennan, who went 3-for-4 with three doubles, two RBI, and one run.

Summit was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. They are 11-4 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Summit's win bumped their record up to 17-19. As for Riverdale, the loss snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 24-10 record.

As of now, neither Summit nor the Warriors have any future games scheduled.
