Soccer Recap: Lincoln Southeast Comes Up Short

Lincoln Southeast fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Kearney on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bearcats by a score of 2-1. That's two games in a row now that Lincoln Southeast have lost by just one goal.

Their goal came courtesy of Gerardo Valenciano, who's now up to three this season.

Lincoln Southeast's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 5-3. As for Kearney, they pushed their record up to 7-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

Lincoln Southeast didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Lincoln North Star on the 11th. As for Kearney, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Grand Island on the 12th.
