Volleyball Recap: Trinity Classical Academy Picks Up Fifth Straight Win on the Road

Trinity Classical Academy had won five straight on the road, but on Thursday they bumped up to 12-4 to make it six. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Faith Baptist Contenders 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Knights have posted since October 3, 2024.

As for Faith Baptist, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-6. Contenders fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against Trinity Classical Academy since Thursday.

Faith Baptist's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Caitlin Phung, who had 44 digs, two blocks, and two aces, and Faith Orquiola, who had 20 assists and 16 digs. Phung is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last four games she's played.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Trinity Classical Academy is set to challenge their familiar foe Vasquez at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Faith Baptist will square off against rival Santa Clarita Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
