Basketball Recap: Guy Vickers Key Part of a Team Effort in Bridgemen Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Tenafly, Fort Lee was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They skirted past the Westwood Cardinals 38-36. That's more bragging rights for the Bridgemen, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Fort Lee's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Guy Vickers led the charge by going 5 of 9 on his way to 14 points and eight rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Vickers has scored at least a third of Fort Lee's points. Jake Erlich was another key player, putting up eight points and six boards.

The victory got Fort Lee back to even at 7-7. As for Westwood, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fort Lee will take on West Milford at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Westwood, they will face off against Ramsey at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Westwood is facing Ramsey at the right time seeing as Ramsey is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
