Football Preview: Bel Air Highlanders vs. Parkland Matadors
The Bel Air Highlanders are taking a road trip to challenge the Parkland Matadors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bel Air has given up an average of 46.6 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Despite their loss, Bel Air saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Marquette Beard, who picked up 117 receiving yards and one score, and also rushed for 37 yards and one touchdown, was perhaps the best of all. Beard's longest reception was for an incredible 70 yards. Bel Air also got a significant boost from Angel Dominguez, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 101 yards.
Meanwhile, Parkland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost to Americas on the road by a 35-16 margin.
Even if they lost, Parkland's defensive line still kept up the pressure with four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece. Another thorn in Americas' side was Julian Gomez, who made 17 total tackles.
Bel Air now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Parkland, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.
Bel Air took a serious blow against Parkland in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, falling 48-14. Thankfully for the Highlanders, Jayden Macias (who rushed for 162 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 8.1 yards per carry, and also caught one score) won't be suiting up this time.
