Volleyball Recap: Seckman Takes a Loss

Seckman had lost three straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped down to 14-6-2 to make it four. They fell just short of the Kirkwood Pioneers by a score of 3-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Jaguars of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Sarah Albers paced Seckman's offense, picking up 14 kills. Albers were helped by Meghan Holt and Vanessa Wason, who contributed 20 assists each.

As for Kirkwood, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-8-1 record this season. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since August 30th.

Kirkwood's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Addie Wright, who had 28 digs and three aces. That's the most digs Wright has posted over her last nine matches. Another player making a difference was Reese Rothgangel, who had 14 assists and ten digs.

Coincidentally, Seckman and Kirkwood will both be playing Lindbergh the next time they take the court. The Pioneers will host the Flyers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Jaguars will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
