The School of the Woods Wildcats will be playing at home against the Lighthouse HomeSchool Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for School of the Woods and ten for Lighthouse HomeSchool.
School of the Woods suffered their biggest defeat since November 11, 2023 on Saturday. They were the victim of a rough 37-11 defeat at the hands of Annapolis Christian Academy. That's two games in a row now that School of the Woods has lost by exactly 26 points.
They got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of
Savannah Phan and
Maria Romero, who each put up four points. Phan also led the team in assists with an. She held things down on the boards with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 52-10, which was the final score in Lighthouse HomeSchool's tilt against Humble Christian on Thursday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Lighthouse HomeSchool in their matchups with Humble Christian: they've now lost five in a row.
School of the Woods' defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-6. As for Lighthouse HomeSchool, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-5.
School of the Woods strolled past Lighthouse HomeSchool when the teams last played back in January of 2023 by a score of 42-25. Does School of the Woods have another victory up their sleeve, or will Lighthouse HomeSchool turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
