Andrews falls despite big games from Lavon White and Vincent Rhue

Recap: Andrews Yellowjackets vs. Marion Swamp Foxes

The Andrews Yellowjackets struggled with assists on Friday (the Marion Swamp Foxes had seven more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Andrews took a serious blow against the Swamp Foxes, falling 63-36. While losing is never fun, Andrews can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 167th, while the Swamp Foxes are ranked 36th).

Andrews' loss came despite strong showings from Vincent Rhue and Lavon White. Rhue scored 12 points along with three steals, while White scored 13 points along with two steals. White continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

It was another big night for Jamarius Williams, who scored 22 points along with four steals for Marion. Another player making a difference was Jameir Legette, who scored 14 points along with two steals.

Andrews has not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season. As for Marion, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Andrews will play host again and welcome the Blazers, where tip off is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Marion, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Stallions at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
