Rayne waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They had just enough and edged out the Lacassine Cardinals 5-3. That's two games straight that the Wolves have won by exactly two runs.

Lon Paul Moody spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on three hits.

At the plate, Kainon Suiter was excellent, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Rylan Fontenot was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Rayne's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-2. As for Lacassine, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.

Looking ahead, Rayne will take on St. Edmund at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lacassine, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Welsh at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
