Volleyball Recap: Surry County Comes Up Short

Surry County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Essex Trojans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 two weeks ago.

Surry County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Essex, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Surry County will take on Appomattox Regional Governor's Arts & Tech at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Cougars' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Essex, they will square off against King & Queen Central at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
