Softball Recap: Valley Falls Wins Going Away Against Troy

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against McLouth, Valley Falls was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They blew past the Troy Trojans 13-3. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Abby Wilson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in May of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Chloe Cox, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Cassidy Frakes, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Valley Falls kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Valley Falls now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Troy, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Valley Falls will have a chance to go back-to-back against Troy: the pair will be back at it again later today.
